Nightclub Security Guard
If you want to became quality security guard employed by the best security guard companies then you must enter a security guard training program.

I have worked in many clubs, bars, and approved venues across Australia as a crowd controller. You will refer to this as being a bouncer or bully depending on your experience and standpoint. Usually you’d be right, the gang controller you see is a bouncer or bully, but then sometimes you would see the real thing. A group controller who can supply a safe locale by their experienced and calm demeanour of coping with difficulty before it starts and with the right strategies. Any crowd controller that attempts to resolve a situation at their location employing a punch or kick is a bouncer and bully because they do not have the talents or experience important to do the job correctly. By hitting the patron they have shown their own incompetence in the job. Within the locale you are frequently scanning folk During my patrols of the location round the floor a good security guard is constantly looking for signals that indicate future difficulty.
This is so you can reply before any major trouble happens. Each patron is considered and recollected, how they stand, what they drink, who they may be with, and how they’re feeling right now. Deadly folks can be spotted if you look This night I saw a patron who was not doing what everybody else was doing I the club. This club has over two hundred patrons on a consistent night and it is in a reasonably rough area so you have a tendency to get similar patrons coming in. All of them try and appear more robust than the other patrons, but almost all of this is just show and good security can spot the difference. I immediately considered the instant environment he was in to try to see what the genuine situation was. He was leaning against the wall not drinking while carrying an opaque carrier bag barely full by his side. His eyes appeared to scan the crowds but he kept returning to target a selected area of the dance floor. It is not uncommon for folk to gaze longingly at the girls dancing while they evaluate their probabilities of approach and success, having worked in clubs for all of these years I’ve seen all the looks and moves folk do not think any one sees. He was not looking in that kind of way and it looked he was building up to enough hate or emotional to do something. Security guards should be conscious of what patrons carry I had found the girl he was preoccupied by and used her as his pivot point as the suspects spotlight is going to be towards her and not to me. I began to move on a circle approach to see what was in the bag. I radioed thru the suspect outline as I approached.
I received a radio call back saying that outline matched a domestic debate last week where the male had promised to come back with a gun and shoot the girl. Everybody went into alert and started moving into positions.
Just at about that point the male left the wall and headed at a fast walk onto the dance floor. I was catching up from behind by walking. An green crowd controller would have ran and tackled the male but that places you into a terribly perilous situation and with small control over the incident.
He reaches into the bag He reaches into the bag as he gets 2 metres away from the girl and she saw him now. The dance floor starts to clear as somebody calls GUN from the bunch. I’m right behind the male and have not seen any gun come out of the bag yet. I step up and control the males arm and lock him up with a restraint method just as he brings his hand out of the bag. There’s howling and running but I have the male in hand with a pain control lock applied and he’s extremely complaint right now. I note that in his hand is a crumpled shirt.
He informs me that he just wished to show his ex-girlfriend that she knew she was sleeping around on him and this shirt proves it. I then walked the male outside and instructed him to keep away till he soothes down in two days. Guns are a part of the threat culture now Recently in Melbourne we’ve been having security guards and patrons being shot outside clubs because folks they have ejected have guns or have gone home to get them.Security guards cannot just presume that the patrons threat to get a gun and come back isn’t real anymore. You only have one life and do not get paid enough to be disabled for the remainder of your life if you are are shot by.
Your door greeters should be screening folks better employing a threat assessment process. You all should get to know all of your regulars and what possibility they’ll be armed. Start to know the stature of your deadly types by listening and talking to others that know.
Do not let any one reach into a pocket or bag while they’re standing next to you if you’ve been concerned in an oral or physical conflict. This is just foolish to let them do that in today’s culture of knives. It is your duty to protect yourself In my 20 years of security work I’ve found that most crowd controllers and security guards haven’t any idea a way to protect themselves or others from harm.
They depend on the limited coaching received during their one and only course or believe that they have the talents because they have worked in clubs for years and never wanted to improve. First off everybody desires to keep practicing to improve at anything. Nobody got better by being in a location for 2 years. In that 2 years you could have had only three forceful ejections and learned nothing new. Second , you are getting older and slower while the patrons that are your main risk class stay the same age but carry more weapons now. Remember that your patrons will change but it’s the sort of patron that you practice for and they’re always coming into your club in any case of how old you are. Thirdly, in any compensation case for damages you have got to show that you took all reasonable steps to guard yourself. Regular coaching and practical talent courses are a good way to discover what works and what doesn’t in a safe workshop instead of in the heat o 1ff8 f a genuine knife fight. Most crowd controllers I have worked with I mostly ask them what their process is for knife or glass bottle reply because these are so common you have to know what to do when it happens. They let me know they’ll simply handle it when it occurs. They often say I cant put it into words or show you how I handle it, but when it occurs I’ll show you then. Deadly .
Expectations that you know the way to handle it’ll put you or me in hospital. If you cant explain how you intend to handle a weapon or fight at your location then you do not know what your doing and always just wing it when in a fight and wish for the best.
Bleed in the coaching so you do not bleed in the club I have handled firearms before and qualified as a weapons instructor so I was not in danger at any stage and knew that I could control this person. I do not advocate that you go and start wrestling or approaching armed suspects unless you know what you do.
